About The Catty Shack
The Catty Shack is a small luxury cattery in the beautiful village of Chrishall. Nestled in a peaceful setting, surrounded by countryside, the boarding facilities are exclusively for cats.
It offers individual spacious and secure accommodation for your cat, looking out on to beautifully landscaped gardens. Off-road parking is available, ensuring a safe transfer for your cat from the car to the cattery.
Situated in the grounds of our private house, we are constantly on hand to cater for any, and all, of your cat’s wishes.

You are very welcome to visit the cattery to view our facilities. We operate on an appointment system, so please get in touch to arrange a visit.

Julia runs a wonderful cat hotel. The Catty Shack is in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The chalets provide plenty of space and there are plenty of interesting features to keep them amused with ramps and blankets. We really appreciated the update on the cats whilst we were away which reassured us that neither cat had undergone a personality change. The cats are already booked in for their next holiday.

Services
What We Do

services
Predominantly, we are here to make sure your cat is cleaned, fed, watered, and comfortable. We are on site all day, and will check on all residents throughout the day, to cater for all needs.
In addition, provided your cat is accepting of our company, we will also spend at least half an hour a day with them, providing play and stimulation, grooming – and of course lots of cuddles!
If we feel that your cat is not comfortable with the interaction, we will be guided by this and wait for them to signal to us that they are relaxed enough for us to spend more time with them.

food
We provide mainstream high quality food for the cats, but you are welcome to bring your own food if you prefer.
We are more than happy to accommodate special diets and different feeding routines, such as with kittens, older cats, and those with thyroid problems.
Please label all food clearly and provide detailed instructions on portions and timings.
If a cat becomes fussy with its food during its stay, we will try and tempt them with other food, such as fresh chicken or fish, unless instructed otherwise.
Once they are more settled and eating again, we will gradually revert to their usual diet. If we suspect the lack of appetite is due to a medical situation, we will contact you and a vet.

dry grooming & Clipping
We are happy to dry groom your cat and clip its nails if desired, at no extra cost. We are not qualified groomers, so can’t produce a lion cut or a ripple cut!
However, we can help with the removal of loose hair and help to keep on top of matting – and your cat may even enjoy the interaction

record of stay
We make constant checks throughout the day to make sure your cat is as comfortable as possible and not exhibiting signs of any problems.
When cleaning out the chalets in the morning, and feeding morning and evening, we check for anything that doesn’t seem right, and record all details. We are then able to address any issues in good time.
We will also use these records to discuss anything important with you when you collect your cat, so we can be prepared for future stays.

photos & updates
If you would like, we can provide you with regular updates and photos of your cat whilst they are staying with us.

nervous/old/young cats
We are happy to work with kittens, older or nervous cats, as they can take more time to settle in. We can provide hiding places for nervous cats, will approach them cautiously and not force any interaction.
For older cats, we can provide more levels in the chalet, so they are able to gradually work their way upwards, without too much effort.

medication
We are happy to provide any oral or topical medication as required. Please provide full instructions regarding methods of administration, dosage and timings.

personal belongings
Our fees include the provision of bedding, toys and other belongings.
Please feel free to bring any of your own personal items, to make your cat feel more relaxed during its stay.
Prices
1 cat: £15.00 per day
2 cats: £23.00 per day
(sharing a chalet)
3 cats: £29.00 per day
(sharing interconnecting chalets)
4 cats: £35.00 per day
(sharing interconnecting chalets)
Prices are per day or part thereof, including arrival and departure dates.
Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are charged at double rates.
Prices include food, bedding, litter and the administration of any medication – and lots of cuddles!
PICK UP & DROP-OFF
With sufficient notice, we can come and collect your cat and drop it off again at the end of its stay.
We charge £2 per mile to a max 10 mile radius.
Opening Hours
Monday to Saturday: 10:00 until 16:00
Sundays: open for collections only between 14:00 and 16:00
Bank Holidays: 10:00 until 13:00
We are closed for admissions/collections on Xmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday
We like to ensure a stress-free environment for you when settling your cat into the cattery.
We also like to provide you with a detailed summary of your cat’s stay when collecting. Consequently, our opening hours for collecting and dropping off your cat are on an appointment only basis, to ensure that you have our undivided attention.
You are also welcome to come along and view the cattery and discuss any specific needs of your cat. There are times when we are cleaning and feeding the guests, or just pampering them, so please call first to arrange an appointment.
